The Principal Business Analyst will function as the key interface between business owners, IT leaders, and project teams regarding requirements and functionality for both new development and existing production systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work with business leaders and SMEs to gather requirements across different business units in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Partner closely with business owners, IT leaders, and project teams to contribute to project forecasting, logical testing, identifying, and managing project risks, quality assurance, launch support, and post launch support as needed. Lead and set standards for ongoing documentation and investigation of production support issues. Represent IT by providing recommendations to leverage system capabilities to leaders across SEI. Drive and promote internal communication between IT and other functional groups within SEI. Partner with functional SMEs to identify business process enhancement opportunities. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required. The ability to express oneself effectively within groups and in one-to-one conversations. Conveys information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents. Creates an atmosphere in which timely and high-quality input/out flows smoothly between self and others. Excellent ability to organize information, manage tasks and use available tools to effectively contribute to an organization. Must have excellent problem-solving skills - able to focus both on the big picture and finite details. Must be highly proficient in data filtering, and presentation. Must be highly proficient in documenting requirements, writing use cases, and creating functional design specifications. Job Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with proven record of providing rapid and accurate solutions. Knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and techniques. Comfortable working with diverse distributed teams. Experience with all phases of Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) and Agile process/practices and Scrum. Ability to facilitate communications among stakeholders from all levels of the organization and to objectively identify and resolve conflicts. Demonstrated ability to multi-task between concurrent projects. Work Experience: 7+ years technical functional experience Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred or commensurate work experience Certificates, licenses and registrations: Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 - 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 - 10%). Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs. If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location. Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location. This role may require lifting, however reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with our ADA policies. Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers. Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Accommodations related to schedule may be considered. Able to access information using a computer.
