A Brief Overview The Program Manager is responsible for designing, developing, facilitating, and managing programs in alignment with CHOP's community impact mission. The manager leads the execution, management, and promotion of one or more community programs. This role reports to the Director of Community Impact in the Office of Community Impact. What you will do Program management Responsible for overseeing program operations, metrics and milestones Apply public health frameworks and principles to advance programmatic aims, goals, and impact Oversee Community Advisory Board functions Facilitate meetings and coordination with program team members and stakeholders Lead efforts to promote and build awareness of programs to increase participation and engagement Support the Director in ongoing development and potential expansion of programs Anticipate potential delays to projects and takes appropriate mitigation steps Effective Collaboration Develop and maintain positive relationships with key CHOP stakeholders, peer hospitals, government officials, and community-based organizations Collaborate with internal stakeholders to increase program awareness and engagement, as well as to help achieve strategic objectives Understand community needs and family experiences to improve program processes and engagement Partner with data/evaluation team to measure program effectiveness, interpret and communicate results, identify improvement areas, and recommend solutions Seek opportunities to promote and present program impact at relevant meetings, conferences and events Operational Excellence Supervise, train and mentor staff, which may be a mixture of students, freelance support, and/or fulltime staff as needed Support donor stewardship and administration of program financials Remain current on leading national models of social determinants of health and community impact among other anchor institutions Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree healthcare administration, public or social policy, public health, community health, or similar field of study. Required Master's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications At least five (5) years experience in healthcare, public or social policy, public health, or community health Required Experience or education in the area of Community/Public Health program management Preferred Skills and Abilities Understanding of basic health needs, the impact of social determinants, and the healthcare disparities affecting the care of children and families Strong project management skills Strong interpersonal skills Excellent communication (oral and writing skills) High level proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to prioritize and resolve critical issues efficiently and effectively Ability to work with all levels of an organization Excellent communication (oral and writing) skills Passion for health equity and optimal child and family health outcomes Proven leadership qualities and ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously Ability to set goals and priorities for functional area To carry out its mission, CHOP is committed to supporting the health of our patients, families, workforce, and global community.
