Job Description: We are looking for an attorney with a strong financial transactions background to join a global legal team supporting HPE's captive financial services business, Hewlett-Packard Financial Services Company ("HPEFS"). This role will primarily focus on drafting, negotiating and advising internal stakeholders and business leaders on agreements for a broad variety of IT equipment finance, IT asset management, and related commercial transactions of varying complexity worldwide. HPEFS combines financial expertise, technology insights, and sustainable solutions that maximize customer's IT asset economics and create smarter IT lifecycles for customers and partners of all sizes. Working across the entire tech estate, from edge to cloud to end-user, HPEFS delivers IT financing and IT asset lifecycle solutions that not only free up capital and maximize capacity, but also advance sustainable practices globally and consistently. Responsibilities: Manages the development of legal strategies by providing specialized legal expertise in one or more areas of strategic importance or having significant impact on revenue, risk, or policy for client base. Plans and facilitates training and mentoring sessions with other team members and clients to share expertise on a variety of subtopics related to a specific legal concentration. Identifies and resolves highly complex legal, regulatory, and business issues requiring highly specialized knowledge and judgment. Acts as a master of the area of specialization by networking effectively to share subject matter expertise across a broad cross-section of the organization. Education and Experience Required: Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB); additional advanced degree relevant to the specialty preferred. Meets local legal license requirements. 4+ years' experience in commercial lending/leasing transactions of various complexity in law firm or in house environment required, additional experience in general commercial transactions Experience in IT equipment finance a plus especially with IT captive finance organization; additional experience in IT asset management and disposition a plus Experience in financial compliance and/or litigation a plus. Significant experience managing multiple, complex, strategic, specialty law projects, issues, and transactions. Knowledge and Skills: Mastery of practical and academic knowledge within a specific legal concentration, and a recognized authority in one or more sub-areas within the specific legal concentration. Deep knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices relevant to the specialty. Developed understanding of how to operate successfully in the international legal environment for the specific legal concentration. Mastery in negotiating or advising senior representatives of external and internal organizations on complex and high value/risk matters in a specialty. Excellent presentation, facilitation, and networking skills. English language skills to business standard required. Impact/Scope: Scope includes supporting one or more parts of global or regional business or leading complex commercial transactions. Impact includes providing specialized legal expertise in one or more areas of strategic importance to client base.
