Loureiro Building Construction, LLC is a contractor with a broad range of experience in design/build, general contracting, and construction management firm that can self-perform in all market sectors. Our in-house capabilities include site work, concrete, carpentry, and selecting finish trades. We are searching for an O perations Manager for our Plainville, CT office to oversee the field activities of the Environmental Division of the corporation. In this role, the Operations Manager monitors the functionality of equipment and machinery necessary to implement the work of the Environmental Division, manages the schedule of field activities, and ensures that field personnel perform duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure and Work Instructions. The Operations Manager also develops goals for subordinates, makes real-time decisions within his or her area of control, and provides periodic updates to management. Responsibilities : Works closely with senior management to develop and implement technical training and auditing concerning field competencies. Trains or instructs employees in job duties, Standard Operating Procedures, or other company policies or arranges for training to be provided. Develops or updates Standard Operating Procedures and implements them in conjunction with management. Assesses the work of employees engaged in field activities to ensure adherence to quality standards and proper procedures, correcting errors, or problems. Makes recommendations to management concerning such issues as staffing decisions or procedural changes. Manages the field activities schedule. Consults with managers or other personnel to resolve problems in areas such as equipment performance, output quality, or work schedules. Works with Yard Managers to ensure that an adequate inventory of supplies is available, and that any necessary equipment or machinery is properly maintained. Performs all work safely and insists that subordinates work safely, consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures. Participates in selecting individuals to perform field activities for projects. Provides administrative supervision of assigned staff members, including performance reviews and recommending staff members for advancement. Performs other work as apparent or assigned. Requirements: Ability to plan, organize and execute field operations. Strong leadership skills. Knowledge of safety regulations. Strong communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Knowledge and Experience: Must have a degree in engineering, geology, or science. Has at least 10 years of experience in the implementation of field activities. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, hiking, and standing Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. Mobility control of hands to setup equipment, handle samples, and operate tools. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
