Practice Area: Criminal Law - Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm in San Jose, CA, is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, provide legal representation to clients, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in criminal defense and handling complex cases. Key Duties:Manage a caseload of criminal defense cases and provide legal representation to clients.Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic guidance following each hearing.Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents and case law.Provide comprehensive legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.Accrue additional evidence to support clients' cases or arguments against the prosecution's charges.Prepare clients for depositions, determine case strategy goals, and gather information from witnesses and experts.Demonstrate interest in gaining experience in Criminal Defense. Requirements:Interest in gaining experience in Criminal Defense.Interest in gaining experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications:Active Bar admission or eligibility to sit for the Bar exam. Skills:Strong legal research and writing abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.Proficiency in Case Management Software.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (preferred).
