Adjunct Faculty - World Religions - Religious Studies / PhilosophySugar Grove Campus Part-time Adjunct FacultyWaubonsee Community College promotes diversity in faculty, staff, and student recruitment and is committed to hiring and retaining exceptional faculty and staff who are committed to the college's culture of collaboration, professional growth and student success.Waubonsee Community College's Liberal Arts and Sciences division is currently seeking adjunct instructors for World Religion courses in our Religious Studies & Philosophy departments.Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Waubonsee does not accept applications for exclusively remote teaching assignments. Courses begin the week of August 19th and conclude on December 14th.Introduction to World Religions: RLG120/PHL120Section 001 - Aurora Downtown Campus - Friday mornings - 8:00 - 10:45 amSection 950 - Sugar Grove Campus - Thursday afternoons - 12:30 - 1:45 pm - Hybrid modalityEssential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:Designing syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description as well as program, course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student's needs as diverse learners.Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in Philosophy or Religious Studies or a Masters Degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Philosophy or Religious Studies.Preferred ExperienceTeaching Philosophy or Religious Studies, or a related field, at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.Teaching traditionally underserved populations.Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process.Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.Utilizing Learning Management Systems.Please attach the following documents when applying: 1 Cover Letter-Yes 2 Resume-Yes 3 References-Yes (Can be provided at interview) 4 Transcripts-YesPosition Detailsreq1781Grant Funded: No Work Schedule: Varies Testing: No Targeted Hire Date: 8/12/2024Special Instructions: Please attach all required documents at the time of application.
