Practice Area: Litigation - Commercial, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, Job Overview:A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, DC. This role involves handling cutting-edge issues related to privacy and data protection, intermediary liability, defamation, consumer protection, advertising, unfair competition, free speech, terms of service, and the safety of minors on the Internet. The successful candidate will provide full-service support to technology companies on regulatory, litigation, compliance, and criminal matters worldwide and serve in a product advisory capacity.Duties:Develop litigation strategies and draft substantive pleadings for global matters, including data protection, defamation, IP infringement, consumer protection, and contract disputes, and oversee on-the-ground counsel to implement the strategy.Guide clients through regulatory investigations by international data protection authorities, consumer protection agencies, and other international entities, including drafting submissions, forecasting outcomes, and advising on compliance strategies.Advise clients on risk assessments associated with new products, policies, and business structures, as well as with proposed legislation and regulations worldwide.Analyze reports of unlawful social media posts or unlawful moderation of user accounts.Conduct and present global legal analysis impacting social media companies, including intermediary liability, hate speech, and defamation.Requirements:2-4 years of commercial litigation/law firm experience.Admitted to the Bar and in good standing.Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.Commercial/business awareness.Outstanding communication skills.Strong time management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.Excellent drafting skills with attention to accuracy and compelling presentation of arguments.Detail-oriented.Motivated to enhance professional skills and leverage growth opportunities.Excellent professionalism and active participation in the firm community.Commitment to excellent client service.Ability to synthesize legal concepts and strategy into digestible client advice, including for non-legal stakeholders.Outstanding problem-solving skills.Team player with the ability to work independently on specific tasks.Proactive, resourceful, and self-starting.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Bar admission is in good standing.Skills:Strong academic and intellectual capabilities.Creative and commercial/business thinker.Excellent communication and drafting skills.Strong time management and multitasking abilities.Attention to detail and accuracy.Professionalism and community engagement.Client service commitment.Ability to translate legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.Problem-solving and independent work skills.Proactive and resourceful attitude.Foreign language proficiency (German, French, Italian, and/or Hebrew) is a plus.Job Location:Washington, DC A highly respected New York firm that has grown into an international juggernaut, this AmLaw firm boasts 44 offices spread across 30 countries.
