Primary Function: Assist staff, plant personnel on technical issues relating to PC systems and software. Manage company network . Machines, Tools and Equipment used: Experience with mid-range computers, personal computers, all networking equipment Materials Used: General office supplies . Supervision: Network Manager Direction Exercised: None Job Responsibilities: 1.* Install, update and maintain OS releases on BGF servers and its clients 2.* Manage network routers and switches, including monitoring and analysis of network traffic. 3.* Manage and ensure efficient operation of BGF’s networks, computer systems, printers and software. 4.* Develop and manage system to ensure security and safeguarding of network and software applications. 5.* Perform hardware maintenance on an as needed basis for Danville, Altavista, Blue Ridge, Cheraw, and Whse. 6. Provide training to the user community with respect to software applications as provided to the PC users by the MIS Staff 7. Assist user community in documenting existing systems currently processed in a PC environment. 8.* Stay abreast of technological advancements and trends. 9. Identify and recommend to MIS management future PC applications. 10.* Remain knowledgeable about the AS400 and OS systems and provide programming support as required. 11.* Maintain Mitel Phone/Voice communication hardware and software along with phone programming. 12.* Maintain Wi-Fi network with knowledge Ubiquiti/Unifi SIDS and user additions via MAC addresses 13.* Knowledge of Laser and Label printers and how to fix their parts and ribbons. 14.* Knowledge of M3 setup/removal for users and along with other M3 networking functions. 15. Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the executive team 16.* Knowledge of Darktrace security and steps to take if needed. 17.* Programming of Sonic Firewalls to manage VPN users, FTP rights, etc. 18.* Cisco Routers configuration to maintain MPLS and DIA routes. 19. Authorized Training Period: As determined by Manager Physical Requirements: Activity Frequency, Amount, or Description (x) Standing: Infrequent: presentation to users (x) Sitting: A great deal of time in front of PC; 6 hours a day (x) Moving (Self): As required to visit plants, users (x) Climbing: As needed to work on equipment – example would be wireless network (x) Moving Materials: As required; moves PCs on average I hour week (x) Hearing/Speaking: Must be able to communicate both verbally and written (x) Visual Acuity: Needed in use of CRT.PC; read technical literature (x) Bending/Stooping: Minimal (x) Other: None Environmental/Safety Risk PPE required to work in those areas as designated Preferred Qualifications College Degree and 4 Years experience is highly preferred for this position Mandatory Qualifications In addition to above - Minimum of 2-4 years with personal computers and networking in business environment, strong experience with network and operating system administration and Internet access.
