Senior Complex Claims Director, Excess Join us as a Senior Complex Claims Director to grow your experience in Claims. How you will create an impact Determining the scope and extent of available coverage. The investigation, evaluation and disposition of new and existing 3rd party property and casualty claims. Preparation and execution of investigation strategies which identify critical issues effecting liability, causation and damages and assess risk transfer and contribution opportunities. Clear and concise communication and contact with internal and external customers, including insureds, brokers and underwriters, to provide guidance and manage expectations. Proper documentation of exposure evaluation and resolution strategy. Presentation to senior management of claim disposition recommendations. Independent negotiation of claim settlements via ADR or other means after securing appropriate authority. Effective management and budgeting of resources in coordination with counsel, vendors and insureds. Establishing clear ground rules to maintain expense control with defense and coverage counsel. What you will need to succeed 8+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred. Excellent communication ability (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills. Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation process. Experience attending and controlling claims - pre-suit, litigated and post-trial - at mediations, settlement conferences, etc. JD helpful but not required. Property and Casualty adjusting licenses required and must be obtained within 6 months. Ready to take your career to the next level? We would love to hear from you. For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $129,000-$162,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
