Additional Information About the Role BJC is hiring for an ED Charging Specialist. This person will be responsible for charging for ED and EMS services across all the ED's within BJC. Remote opportunity! Support both internal and external customers on all aspects of maintenance and reporting from the five chargemaster patient accounting systems which house nine different chargemasters within the system. Performs financial analysis detailing gross and net revenue impacts to ensure consistent charging methodologies, market sensitivity and maximum reimbursement are coordinated. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Accurately calculates E/M codes, CPT procedures, infusions, hydrations and injections and enter charges for each patient in the emergency department. Monitors patient charge entry process following the specified BJC ED guidelines. Responsibilities Knowledge of HMED must be maintained. Identifies missing documentation and/or orders. Notifies supervisor of missing documentation for staff education. Maintains incomplete board during billing and charging process. Reviews and charges each chart. Accurately calculates the appropriate E/M level fee and all documented procedures before charging.
