Region Product Development Manager - Confined Space

As a Regional Product Development Manager (RPDM) at United Rentals, you will act as a single point of contact for confined space and services for strategic/key accounts within the Trade area, District or Region. You will act as the Trench liaison with national account managers, government account managers, strategic account managers, and sales representatives from all Company business units. You will be a technical resource for confined space solutions, providing training and project support to customers for new and existing product lines, while educating other Company business units on Trench Safety. As an RPDM, you will drive incremental profitable revenue for the Trench Safety region and for the Company through lead sharing and trade area cooperation. What you'll do: Key Account Single Point of ContactTarget and focus on the development of confined space services and solutionsWork closely with strategic account managers, government account managers, national account managers and local sales representatives, to provide their larger customers trench products, services and technical expertiseDevelop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers/suppliers of confined space products and servicesDevelop and conduct confined space product application training programs for sales representatives, with a focus on safety and production Assist in limiting underutilized assets through sales and marketing training and redistribution of equipmentDevelop and conduct new & engineered product application training programs for sales representatives, with a focus on safetyDevelop and conduct repair & maintenance training programs for service technicianProvide engineering and design support for large, complex technical projectsUse Sales Force Automation (SFA) and other tools to provide business intelligence to sales teamWork closely with corporate sales/business intelligence, provide leads to sales representatives using SFDC, Dodge, PEC and other information toolsAssist sales representatives in selecting the proper equipment to provide the customer with the most cost effective solutionOther duties assigned as needed Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and educationMinimum 7 years of technical rental sales experience in the trench safety product/services lineMinimum 3 years of sales supervisory experience, with ability to effectively train, motivate and influence all levels of the sales/management organizationFirm working knowledge of existing products and methods used in support of excavation systems and how they are used in the rental market;Strong knowledge and understanding of all new trench safety products and technologies being developed and implemented in the marketplace or trade area, and the opportunities available for trench safety market expansion in the rental industryProficiency with MS Office (specifically Word, and Excel)Strong sales/sales management and customer focus/service skillsUnderstanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation; business acumenEngineering/mechanical aptitude: Ability to properly size, quote, install and maintain large projectsProficiency with SFDC, Dodge, PEC or other CRM softwareStrong leadership, strategic thinking, trade area cooperation and teamwork skillsThis position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
