This position pays $28-$32/hr. DOE. Duties & Responsibilities Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities, providing a high level of attention to detail and focus on a given task and keeping work area clean and organized. Oversees the machine shop, both CNC and conventional machines. Assist supervisor with employee assignments of duties. Programs, sets up and operates a variety of CNC and Machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, such as Press Brakes, Drill Presses, Flow Waterjet, Bridgeport Mill, Lathes, Milling Machines, Swiss Screw Machine. Programs in G and M code at the machine. Monitors the feed, speed, coolant flow of machines, and depth and angle of cut, during the machining process. Evaluates machining procedures and recommends changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability. Maintains machine tools in proper operational condition. Responsible for minor machine maintenance and maintaining proper alignment and condition of machine. Measures, examines, and documents required dimensions to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring vision system. Fill out Work Order travels and all inspection documents. Perform First/Last Part Off spot checks as secondary inspector to other’s setups/runs. Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Constantly operates and positions self and team to maintain and clean CNC and manual machines, including under and inside the machines. Work with supervisor to ensure a safe and clean environment for all employees. Assist supervisor in ensuring all Machine Shop employees are trained. Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Required Skills At least 5 years of experience with setup and operation of various types of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision metal parts. At least one year of related supervisory or leadership experience with demonstrated capabilties to develop and lead a team to success. Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals. Knowledge of various metal types - carbon steel, copper, brass, stainless steels, aluminum, and titanium. Experience with measuring tools such as a caliper, micrometer, indicator, and measuring vision system. Precision fabrication - holding tolerances +/- .001". Ensure all work meets quality standards, due dates, instructions, and specifications. Multi-tasking - ability to perform multiple jobs at one time, Example: C'Sink, Ream, while running Waterjet. Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards or equivalent. High attention to detail. Complex problem solving. Positive attitude. Communicates well with others. Follows instructions, ability to delegate. Unafraid to ask questions. Judgement and decision making. Time management. Able to do repetitive tasks. Understanding and ability to enforce, promote and train all safety rules and regulations as well as OSHA requirements. Be consistently punctual and reliable. Position Requirements High school diploma or GED At least five years of experience with setup and operation of various types of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision metal parts. At least one year of related supervisory or leadership experience with demonstrated capabilities to develop and lead a team to success. Preferred Education & Experience Experience with Press Brakes, Waterjet, CNC Mills, Bridgeport Mill, Screw Machine and Mori Seiki Machinery. Knowledge in programming in CAD/CAM and Mastercam software. Physical Requirements Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds unassisted. Regularly stands for 8 hours. Work environment is bright, and temperature controlled.
