GASTROENTEROLOGIST “We encourage Military Veterans and Military Spouses to apply" SITE OF SERVICE Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, 4300 West 7th St, Little Rock, AR 72205 Contract (52 weeks) Fulltime and Part time available POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS: Education: Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Cardiac Certifications: Through American Heart Association and American Red Cross: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. License : Must have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Board Certification : Shall be Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM.org) and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS or equivalent. NPI: Shall have appropriate National Provider Identifier DEA: current DEA certificate U.S. Citizenship : Shall be a U.S. citizen. English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers. Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract. DUTIES: Scope of Care: Shall be responsible for providing Gastroenterology care, including, but not limited to: Clinic and Surgical Care: Shall p rovide clinical Gastroenterology services. Contractor physician(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. Operative Services : Contractor physician(s) shall p rovide comprehensive clinical Gastroenterology services including the diagnosis and treatment of Gastroenterology disease and surgical procedures . Typical procedures include EGD, Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound & ERCP’s. Clinic duties: Perform endoscopic procedures in GI lab, staffing and supervising GI fellows in endoscopy lab and inpatient consult service, supervising Fellows in gastroenterology clinic when required. HOURS: Normal Business Hours – 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday - Friday Clinic Schedule : 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Rotating weekends and holidays. Rotating weeks after normal working hours call coverage. 4:30pm – 7am SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
