On our Corporate Responsibility team, it's as much about protecting our planet as it is our people - and your work will help do just that.In this role the Sustainability Specialist - Supplier Engagement will be responsible for implementing the buyer and supplier engagement strategy for Scope 3 emissions and liaise with global teams, buyers, suppliers, and partners.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project and client-relationship management and a background in sustainability or agriculture. The objective of this role is to develop targeted resources, support, and training to our suppliers to make progress towards decarbonizing ALDI's supply chains. Position Type: Full-Time Work Location: Aurora, ILThis role is eligible to participate in ALDI's Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3days per week(i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week). Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.* Informs management of impending legislative, sustainability, and social matters.* Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.* Supports direct leader in the training of staff and external stakeholders.* Manages reporting requirements for all teams by working with the appropriate managers and assistants to ensure accurate submission to stakeholders.* Maintains Sustainability programs and procedures in conjunction with management.* Conducts extensive research within area of responsibility and creates reports/summaries on the appropriate course of action to take.* Analyzes data and makes recommendations to leadership on new programs that could be implemented to address emerging trends.* Develops and maintains knowledge and understanding of Sustainability industry trends.* Maintains full knowledge of, and supports further development of, the company's Sustainability policies, goals, and key performance indicators (national and international).* Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.* Complies with ALDI privacy and security requirements and policies if job responsibilities include possible access to confidential and/or sensitive information.* Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: * Associate's Degree in Business, Economics, Sustainability, Supply Chain or a related field required.* A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Corporate Responsibility required.* Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Physical Requirements: * Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.* Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.* Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.* Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
