Description:
The Instrumentation and Controls Draftsperson (Draftsman, Draftswoman) will produce P&ID's, basic wiring drawings, wiring drawings for both local control panels and PLCs, loop drawings, hook up drawing, Boolean logic drawing and all instrument and controls related drafting activities using Auto CAD and Auto CAD Electrical. Functional Job Duties: Analyses and reviews proposals and customer specifications/requirements in conjunction with the assigned control engineer to draft the required drawings for the application. Completes all drawings and documents, using Auto CAD or Auto CAD Electrical, within required timescales while meeting project and quality requirements. Assists controls engineers to create the bills of materials (BOM). Assists with reviewing customer feedback. Visits the workshop to assist with design changes as required per the project and to assist shop personnel with production of equipment. Production of as-built drawings. Checks own drawings and those of others for accuracy. The person: HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a Diploma in Auto CAD or Cad Works 5+ years drafting/design experience in an Electrical and/or Controls and Instrumentation engineering environment, using Auto CAD or Auto CAD Electrical Experience in producing controls and instrumentation drawings complete with full BOM's. Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word / Excel / Adobe and all Web based systems for design completion. Experience in time management and job prioritisation. Assertive, confident and self-motivated Works well under pressure Great communicator at all levels across the business, both verbally and in writing.
