Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Exempt, 12-month employee Reports to: CEO & Director of Advancement Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000 Our School Houston Classical Charter School (“Houston Classical”) was chartered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to open in Houston in August 2020 beginning with kindergarten and first grade. The school has an accomplished and committed Board, which includes a founding Board and the Founder. We are looking for experienced, dedicated, and motivated individuals who are excited by the challenge of being part of a new school. Houston Classical is founded on the idea that scholars can learn at a high level notwithstanding their zip code or background. Mission of Houston Classical Houston Classical’s mission is to ensure all scholars PreK-8 are successful through a classical approach, rigorous academics, character development, and structured environment to ensure success in high school, college and in life. The Role The Advancement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advance the mission of Houston Classical, including: identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors, grant writing, and managing all stewardship programs (events, direct response, etc.). The Advancement Manager reports to the CEO and Director of Advancement and works closely with the Board of Directors to develop and execute fundraising initiatives. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Donor relationship management: Cultivate meaningful connections with mid-level donors ($1,000-$9,999) to foster trust, solicit gifts, and engage with organizational values. Strategic donor engagement: Own the development and implementation of all stewardship initiatives, including bimonthly newsletter, donor, welcome packets, impact reports, etc. Manage grant process ($10,000-$99,000) including drafting LOIs and applications to reporting and relationship management Assist with managing a capital campaign, including drafting collateral, recruiting committee, and overseeing timeline Coordination and delegation: Work with the Director of Advancement and CEO to coordinate stewardship and third party events (cocktail hours, fireside chats, open house, etc) to ensure a seamless and personalized donor experience. Strategic fundraising solicitation: Execute targeted fundraising solicitations through persuasive conversations and personalized communications. Streamline and manage donor volunteer program Assist with recruitment of Board of Directors and Board Committee members while maintaining relationships with current volunteer leadership Serve as a contact and representative for external fundraising and networking events to increase brand awareness and connect with key organizations/individuals Requirements Bachelor’s degree required 4-5 years of successful non-profit or fundraising experience with knowledge of fundraising principles and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling fundraising proposals, donor correspondence, and persuasive presentations.
