Nurse physician employment in Maryland : - Plan, provide, oversee, administer, and document professional patient care, in accordance with nursing standards of practice, licensed independent provider (LIP), and established policies and procedures. - - Assess patient condition based upon observation, examination and/or interview, physician's diagnosis, laboratory findings, age-related issues, and other pertinent information. - - Identify, document and implement nursing care appropriate to patient care problems. - - Obtain patient history and complete full nursing assessments. - - Interpret and ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice. - - Set up, operate, and monitor medical equipment. - - Instruct patients and family members regarding disease processes and provide emotional support, as needed. - - Calculate drug dosages and administer intravenous fluids and medications using age-appropriate guidelines - - Respond to life-saving situations, initiating emergency resuscitation measures, according to pediatric and adult resuscitation protocols. Performs other duties as assigned.
