APRN physician job in Maryland : 1. Serves as an Advance Practice Nurse (Practitioner/Occupational Health) in a Medical Treatment facility, responsible for the primary care; managing complex occupational medicine programs and providing quality care in collaboration with providers, industrial hygiene, safety, management personnel, and patients/workers. 2. Major Duties include: a. Occupational Health Program Management: Plans, develops, organizes, and manages a comprehensive Occupational Health services program in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations, Office of Safety and Health Administration, Department of Defense, service components, and Office of Personnel Management. Develops new processes based on ever changing regulations that are broad in nature and requiring considerable knowledge for accurate interpretation. b. Identifies Occupational Health Program goals through interdisciplinary collaboration with industrial hygienist, safety managers, physicians, and supported commands. Collaborates with regional occupational health program manager to ensure programs are current, appropriate, and meet legal requirements. Reviews request for medical surveillance from safety officials and supervisors. c. Reviews and evaluates program operations and recommends or implements changes in internal procedures and policies, as required, to meet workload demands and to promote a more efficient and effective workflow. Develops and recommends changes in the functions and organization of the clinic, as necessary, ensures the uniform application of all administrative and technical operating policies and procedures and coordination of all related responsibilities. Networks proactively with other members of Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Infection Control, Preventive Medicine, and Human Resources within the organization. d. Consults with regional occupational health program manager for more complex matters requiring multiple outside health organizations and/or agencies. Performs or provides oversight of work site visits independently or in collaboration with other occupational health professionals, physicians, industrial hygienist, and safety specialists to evaluate health hazards, work practices and the utilization of appropriate safety and protective equipment. Performs periodic technical assist visits to occupational health clinics. Facilitates occupational health nurse and technician practice standardization meetings. Standardizes local operating procedures and Occupational Medicine Program Assessment submissions as applicable. Serves as the technical expert and resource for managers, assigned and guest health care providers and employees regarding occupational health issues. e. Provides technical reporting, guidance, and assistance in matters of Occupational Health within the servicing area to Defense Health Agency, local Public Health organizations, Commanding Officers, industrial hygienists, physicians, safety officers, etc., in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to the delivery of services. Represents the organization on policy matters, interagency meetings, and task groups. Responsible for the preparation and submission of all reports to leadership, regional Occupational Health program manager and supply/equipment management. Perform other duties as assigned.
