Staff Software Quality Engineer: The Software Quality Engineer will support the various functions of the Quality and Mission Assurance organization. This role is an extension to the Mission Assurance Engineering function. Candidates will be required to have high organization and communication skills, investigating and problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail. This position supports multiple Advanced Weapons programs on-site in Northridge, California. Work as a member of the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, Advanced Weapons Business Unit Mission Assurance staff in various groups to address technical issues, meet program requirements and ensure mission success. Interface with customers, and with Integration & Test and Engineering organizations to identify and resolve mission/flight assurance issues. Provide support to Mission Assurance Management in review of various activities including ensuring AS9100D compliance throughout site policies, procedures, and practices. Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with Software / Firmware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test and Evaluation teams throughout the software development life cycle to ensure quality standards are in place.* Interface with all levels of management, employees, internal and external customers, and suppliers.* Ensure that finished software product and corrective measures meet acceptable. standards and documentation is compliant with requirements.* Actively contribute to the code base including peer review of code. Initiate software quality testing, firmware evaluation as they apply to product or process quality.* Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.* Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions. Utilize customer and Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance policies and procedures, CMMI Level 3 PAs, and industry standards such as AS9100, to help realize those solutions.* Participate as QA/MA representative in Software Configuration Control Board (SCCB) meetings to assure compliance with established Configuration Management policies and procedures.* Lead team members toward the identification, development, and implementation of cost effective, efficient, and technologically driven solutions.* Provide technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other software quality engineers in the application of principles, tools, and techniques to achieve practical end results.* Serves as systems and software quality spokesperson on multiple advanced projects and programs.* Maintain critical external customers (PMA/TPO/ DCMA) contact to understand their technical needs.* This position requires a highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable individual with excellent organizational skills including the ability to juggle multiple tasks, changing needs, and competing priorities. Individual must be able to complete a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision. Basic Qualifications :* Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience; 12 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 9 years with a PhD. 18+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.* 6 years Software Quality Assurance experience in an Aerospace/Defense environment* Experience with C, C++, Java, and Python* Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System, and CMMI v2.0* Current Secret security clearance and ability to obtain special program access (SAP) Preferred Qualifications: * Strong understanding of missile systems software, firmware, and hardware. Knowledge of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems and missile reprogramming using CMBRE MAP.* Experience using Agile methodology* Experience with RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Actions) process* Experience with requirements traceability, software design, software code, unit testing, software system integration, V&V testing, and deployment.* Strong understanding of programmable logic and devices. Understanding of digital logic fundamentals and ability to read schematics and data sheets.* Experience with integrating software, programable logic, and hardware* Experience assisting software engineering in reporting metrics to the SCRUM process including monitoring and assisting with the Epics, Sprints, Spirals, and Discrepancy Reports (DR) entry, resolution, closure, and metrics around DR* Experience using StarTeam, MATLAB, and TipQA.* Good written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills* Ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams#LI-MA1 Salary Range: $149,900 - $224,900The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
