Bindi North AmericaFOOD SCIENTISTDepartment:--ProductionReports To:-- President and CEOTravel: As needed (up to 20%)FLSA Status:--Full Time, Exempt----Job Overview:As a Food Scientist at our dessert manufacturing plant, you will play a crucial role in the research, development, and improvement of our dessert products. You will be responsible for creating innovative recipes, ensuring product quality and safety, and optimizing production processes to meet our company's standards.--Responsibilities:Recipe Development:Research and develop new dessert recipes, considering factors such as flavor, texture, appearance, and nutritional content.Improving/changing/optimizingExperiment with different ingredients and formulations to create unique and appealing dessert products.Conduct sensory evaluations to assess the taste, texture, and overall quality of the desserts.Quality Assurance and Food Safety:Developing items, implementing quality control procedures, and ensuring products meet regulatory standards and customer expectations.Conduct regular quality inspections of ingredients, processes, and finished products.Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any issues related to food safety or product quality.Process Optimization:Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize production costs.Scale up recipes from small-batch testing to full-scale production while maintaining product consistency and quality.Identify opportunities for automation or technology adoption to streamline production processes.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production staff, engineers, and marketing professionals, to ensure successful product launches and promotions.Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.--Position Qualifications:--Education:--Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.Experience:Previous experience in recipe development and food product manufacturing, preferably in the dessert or bakery industry.Knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and food processing techniques relevant to dessert production.Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality assurance standards.Skills:Strong creativity and innovation skills, with the ability to develop new and exciting dessert recipes.Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting production issues and optimizing processes.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring product quality and safety.--Additional Requirements:- Flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and deadlines.- Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and technological advancements in dessert manufacturing.
