Java Application Architect US Citizens only to serve Federal Client Remote Work Navitas Business Consulting is seeking a Java Application Architect to work to support a Federal Client. This is remote work and requires a US Citizen with 10 years of experience with Architectural frameworks and how to design applications. Business Master File Modernization (BMF Mod) is one of multiple programs created to modernize the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) the legacy Tax processing systems and is critical to the IRS IT Application Development (AD) and IRS IT Enterprise Service (ES) organizations’ goal to support the objectives of the IRS IT Modernization Business Plan. BMF Mod’s initiative will modernize IRS systems and processes, improve taxpayer experience, increase voluntary compliance, and reduce the Service’s reliance on costly and unsustainable legacy technology. Task Description: Provide support and assistance to design, development, integrate, test, and deploy a modernized BMF platform and also support day-to-day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) work based on IRS priorities. Provide for project management, O&M, development, modernization, enhancements, software development, legislative changes, and developmental O&M upgrades. Required skills/Level of Experience: • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Architectural frameworks and how to design applications • Experience developing physical and logical architectures, leveraging client templates/process • Experience with both Java application programming and migration • Validate overall solution with client and project team • Modernization approaches: Familiarity with various modernization strategies like refactoring, containerization, cloud integration, and API enablement. Nice to have skills: • Familiarity with mainframe data structures and formats preferred • Understanding of IBM Z systems: Minimum of 15 years of work experience with a demonstrated knowledge of z/OS, Assembly Language, DB2, QSAM, IMS, CA Endevor, BMC Control-M, JCL, and other core IBM mainframe technologies. • Experience with Java Message Service, Core Java, Spring Core , Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, AWS services • Active IRS MBI Clearance Highly Desirable .
