Communications Manager Location: Detroit, Michigan or Piscataway, New Jersey Employee Category: Full-time Positions Hiring: 1 Start Date: Immediately Salary: $55,000-$65,000 (dependent on credentials and experience) Reports to: Vice President of Strategic Operations Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 20 days PTO Monthly Self-Care & Technology Stipend Robust company holiday calendar Summer Fridays Annual summer and end-of-year shutdown Professional development budget Role Overview: Strategic Community Partners (SCP) is seeking an exceptional Communications Manager to lead SCP’s creative and communications efforts both internally and externally. This role involves shaping the narrative of SCP and leading creative projects with our partners. The ideal candidate is both creative and strategic, able to differentiate communication based on the audience, and has a proven track record of exemplary creative- and communications-oriented projects leading to significant outcomes. Responsibilities: Creative and Communications Strategy: Develop and execute overall SCP creative and communications strategy with a long-term vision. Manage blogs, brand direction, copyediting, graphic design (one-pagers, impact reports, presentations, brochures), narrative/promotional videos, newsletters (HTML, Mailchimp, etc.), public relations, and social media management. Partner Collaboration: Lead SCP’s creative and communications processes with partners. Oversee brand management, copywriting and editing, graphic design, newsletters, social media management, and website development. Interface directly as a leader of the organization with partners. Manage day-to-day execution, ensuring progress toward strategic goals. Leadership: Serve as a leader in the organization, taking ownership and responsibility for the success of SCP’s work internally and externally. Education: Bachelor’s Degree required Experience: At least four years of work experience with evidence of a proven track record of results. Minimum of three years developing brand and communications strategies and leading creative projects/initiatives. Experience serving as the lead contact for creative communications projects, including designing, organizing, planning, executing, and crisis management. At least two years in a mission-driven organization committed to education, equity, and/or justice. Experience facilitating high-stakes meetings with stakeholders to co-create strategy and content. Proven track record of decision-making and judgment in mission-driven work.
