We have a direct hire opening for a CNC Lead Machinist in San Francisco at a CNC machine shop specializing in high-performance components such as levers, mirrors, and rearsets for motorcycle racing. This is a 1st shift opening! In this role, lead a team of 3-4 CNC Machine Operators to ensure they learn to how to operate the machines, understand the correct procedures, and perform setups for the operators to keep machines running smoothly. Pay & Schedule: * Pay: $40-$50/hour * This is a 1st shift openingJob Duties of the CNC Lead Machinist: * Develop, manage, and oversee processes for a shop-floor quality control program. * Manage the workload for 3-4 CNC Machine Operator in a shop that has Haas CNC Vertical Mills and live tool lathes * Assist CNC operators with basic CNC troubleshooting and service questions * Train Machine Operators on correct setup methods and techniques * Make edits to CNC programs to correctly produce each part * Oversee the warm-up procedure for CNC machines before cutting parts * Schedule and coordinate jobs for multiple CNC milling and turning machines * Manage all cutting tools by caring for, ordering, and controlling inventory levels * Manage finished (non-anodized) parts inventory by maintaining established, minimum quantity levels * Advise Operations Manager on material ordering needs * Participate in the facility maintenance program and oversee preventive maintenance for CNC machines, air compressors, tumblers, etc * Obtain raw materials from part racks and stage them for the team using material handling equipment * Assign bin locations to parts that do not have one and maintain all parts bin labels with the latest revision letter * Assist with inventory control, including cycle countingJob Requirements of the CNC Lead Machinist: * Have 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist; consistently setting up Haas CNC Vertical Mills and live tool lathes for production runs * Knowledge of optimal cutting techniques, speeds, and feeds * Read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, and specifications of the parts * Strong working knowledge of GD&T * Have an understanding of G&M codes (preferred) * Use CAD and CAM software for CNC programming (preferred) * Possess fixture-making capability and repair damaged fixtures as needed * Able to use 3D software packages, like Solidworks, Mastercam, or Fusion.APPLY NOW!!
