Linux System Administrator - Richardson TXVolt is immediately hiring Linux System Administrator in Richardson TX.As a Linux System Administrator, you will: * Be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. * Work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems. Many programs employ Agile methodology in managing work. * This position is an Onsite role.Responsibilities to Anticipate:* Administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security* Hardware and software troubleshooting* Scripting, particularly in Bash and Python* Installing, administering, and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)* Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call supportBasic Qualifications:* Required Active TS/SCI with Poly, prior to start date.* Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on the start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.* Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.Preferred Qualifications:* Experience administering Windows based systems* Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP* Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented* Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency* Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.This is a Full Time Contract opportunity.
