Practice Area: Finance - General,Finance - Project Finance,Energy and Oil & Gas - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 4 Years, A law firm is seeking a Projects (Regulatory) Counsel for their Denver, CO office. The Projects (Regulatory) Counsel will focus on handling regulatory aspects related to the development, financing, purchase and sale, and operation of energy projects nationwide, with a specialized focus on renewable energy. This role entails managing power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and grid and transmission issues. Duties:Provide legal counsel on regulatory aspects of energy project development, financing, purchase and sale, and operationDraft and negotiate power purchase agreements and other offtake agreementsAdvise on interconnection agreements and grid and transmission issuesReview and analyze project finance or project documents for energy transactionsCollaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Requirements:Minimum of 4 years of legal experience in FERC electricity regulationsExposure to project finance or project documents for energy transactionsKnowledge of renewable energy industry regulations is advantageous Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Certifications:Admission to the Bar in Colorado or eligibility for admission Skills:Strong legal research and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficientlyProficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite Experience:4+ years of legal experience with respect to FERC electricity regulations, preferably with exposure to project finance or project documents for energy transaction.
