Position Overview: The Tax Accountant plays a pivotal role within our company, contributing to our growth-oriented environment with a focus on fostering strong relationships and providing exceptional support to team members and clients. As a Tax Accountant, you will oversee the tax strategy segment, engaging in a variety of responsibilities that are critical to the success of our organization. Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Tax Strategy Development: • Meet with clients to understand their financial situations and tax needs. • Forecast taxes for individuals, businesses, and other entities based on current regulations and financial data. • Develop frameworks and strategies for tax planning to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits for clients. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Development: • Create and implement standard operating procedures for tax-related processes to ensure consistency and efficiency. • Continuously review and update SOPs to align with changes in tax laws and regulations. Team Oversight and Support: • Provide guidance and support to other team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. • Oversee the work of junior staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines. • Conduct training sessions to enhance team members' knowledge and skills in tax accounting. Tax Return Review: • Review and analyze tax returns prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Identify areas for improvement and provide constructive feedback to enhance the quality of tax filings. Point of Contact for Tax-Related Inquiries: • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders regarding tax-related inquiries. • Address inquiries promptly and effectively, providing clear and accurate explanations to resolve issues and concerns. All communications will be handled through TaxDome to ensure client data integrity and security. Note: This Roles & Responsibilities Document outlines the primary duties and qualifications for the Tax Accountant position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs and individual capabilities. Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required. • Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field. • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities. • Must have active PTIN or eligible to obtain.
