“I partner with parents, leaders, and students in building a foundation of a lifelong faith in middle school students.” The Middle School Director will play a pivotal role in fostering the spiritual development of middle school students. They will lead the teams, both paid and volunteer, to champion the values of Connect, Grow and Go through teaching, leading, and discipleship. This person will work closely with the Next Gen team aligning with the Birth-Young Adult Discipleship strategy. They will be directly responsible for teaching, programming, and events that support the spiritual development of middle school students. They will support the Student Ministry Team by implementing vision, philosophy, and strategy within the Middle School Ministry context. Summary of Position Become the on-staff expert in ministering to Middle School students and families. Recruit, develop, equip, and appreciate volunteers. Develop and maintain a ministry calendar that aligns with mission & vision. Lead both a Sunday morning and mid-week experience that aligns with mission & vision. Be the primary teacher to middle school students. Mobilize middle school students to serve. Communicate regularly with parents. Monitor and steward the Middle School Ministry budgets. Maintain a Handbook for Student Ministry, ensuring that all policies are being followed. Collaborate with the Next Gen Team to create a cohesive ministry calendar. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and conferences as required. Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Alderwood Community Church maintains the right to reassign or change duties as needed. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of ministry experience, preferably in student ministry. Bachelor’s Degree, ministry-related preferred. Must become a member of Alderwood Community Church and in agreement with our Mission and Doctrinal Statement. Must be a spiritual leader, a decision maker, and a team player willing to promote and support other ministries of Alderwood Community Church. Line of Authority Reports to Student Ministry Pastor Physical Demands Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
