Crossroads MinistriesFinleyville, PA, United StatesDenominations: BaptistJob Type: Full-TimeJob Description:The Youth Pastor is responsible for assisting youth between the 5th and 12th grade to deepen and strengthen their relationships with Jesus while helping them become disciple-makers where they live, work, study, shop, and play. This person is responsible for not only teaching gospel centered messages, but also for working alongside parents, and adult team members to ensure that the small group and 1 on 1 based discipleship process are effective, healthy and gospel centered. The person in this position will work alongside parents and leaders to connect youth to Jesus, help them grow spiritually, serve in their area of gifting, and begin a life of multiplication as they share the Gospel and make disciples that make disciples.Accountable to: Pastor of Ministry DevelopmentPrimary Job Responsibilities: Teach gospel centered messages to students during Crossroads Youth services. Grow and develop a team of consistent adult leaders who are committed to helping youth grow spiritually in both 1 on 1 and small group-based environments. Come up with creative ways to help students engage in service, outreach, and disciple-making. Ensure that the discipleship process with students is a team effort between the Crossroads leaders, and the parents. This is done by staying connected with and working alongside parents of the youth in our ministry. Create environments where youth can grow relationally with the leaders and students around them. Keep a clear line of communication with parents and leaders when it comes to any concerns of the health and well-being of any youth in this ministry. Create ways to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of students, families, and leaders in Crossroads Youth. Plan and execute regular leader training and appreciation events, ensuring the existence of healthy leaders upon which to grow strong groups, assimilation, connection, and discipleship ministries. Create promotional materials and communication channels that ensure everyone at Crossroads is aware of Crossroads Youth, its purpose, importance, and how to get connected. Identify, develop, and/or select group curriculum and other group materials and tools Assist in the development of an annual budget and manage spending to budget Perform other duties as assigned.Staff Expectations:1. The Youth Pastor of Crossroads Youth is expected to adhere to the guidelines and culture shaping behaviors.2. The Youth Pastor is expected to uphold and exemplify the stated values and beliefs of Crossroads and treat all members and co-workers with respect and the highest standards of professionalism3. The Youth Pastor at Crossroads is expected to conduct themselves to the best of their ability according to Biblical beliefs and standards.Qualifications A personal relationship with Jesus that results in a life lived in glad obedience to the commands and will of God as described in the Bible Visionary leader; forward thinker; self-directed; self-motivated; self- starter Interpersonal skills to engage and gather people Able to recruit, train, and organize teams, volunteers, leaders, and ministry staff Detail-oriented; can administer and build on systems Demonstrate effective leadership through teams and be effective at delegation Willingness to continue learning; teachable spirit An effective written and verbal communicator who consistently encourages and supports others Able to problem solve and resolve conflict Demonstrate a commitment to goals, strategies, and doctrinal statements of Crossroads
