OverviewThis role is positioned in the Global foods R&D transform product development function. The main objective of this team is to build foundational consumer and product development know how for newer technologies like compression popping, support global expansion of products and enable medium- and longer-term innovation pipeline. This role will have the opportunity to lead and support of the key projects in support of these objectives.The role is responsible for leading some of Science and Technology programs requiring forward thinking in medium- and longer-term horizon to build strong foundational understanding and capability to modulate Compression popping product designs. Develop applications for business problems to solve basis the learnings. Build deep understanding of this emerging newer technology platform for PepsiCo and provide support in lifting and scaling the same in various markets. This role scope in global and multiband in nature e.g., Pop corners, Quaker rice Crisps, Crispy Minis, Quaker Rice cakes, PopWorks to name some key ones.Responsibilities * Lead Science and technology projects by overall planning and executing experiments utilizing the scientific methods, analyze and interpret data to make sound technical recommendations on product and process development that creates business opportunities to support strategic business objectives and functional priorities. * Develop product formulations that leverage expertise in food chemistry and food ingredient functionality. * Perform initial techno commercial evaluations on ingredients, ingredient suppliers, and product formulations. * Carryout essential project management and documentation support required for these programs including governance process requirements. * Support Front end innovation/trend research to develop knowledge and identify new areas of opportunity that support the company's strategic market objectives. * Participate as an active member & partner with various Global R&D functions - Ingredient, Process, Platform, Consumer research, analytical science etc. and regional R&D teams to deliver project objectives.Compensation and Benefit Details: * The expected compensation range for this position is between $72,500 - $121,300 based on a full-time schedule. * Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary. * Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually. * Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. * In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.Qualifications * PhD or MS degree in Food Science or related scientific field. * 1-4 years of industry experience - Preferably in Food Product Development * Strong product development skills with knowledge of Food ingredient functionality * Proven ability to make significant scientific advances utilizing internal & external resources in an agile manner * Effective communication skills * Good collaboration and project management skills * Must be willing to travel approx. 15% of the time. * This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United StatesEEO StatementAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.PepsiCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Female / Minority / Disability / Protected Veteran / Sexual Orientation / Gender IdentityIf you'd like more information about your EEO rights as an applicant under the law, please download the available EEO is the Law & EEO is the Law Supplement documents.
