Job InfoPosition - Laborer SCG (R-04342)Vacancies - 1Location - CT - Orange - 60 Marsh Hill RdDepartment - Construction & Maintenance Hourly Rate: $31.72 - $34.05 Posting Date: 5/22/2024Removal Date: 5/29/2024 Responsibilities Breaks pavement, dies, backfills, tamps trenches or other excavations with hand or pneumatic tools. Loads, unloads, moves, and places in field and in storeroom, using manually operated lift truck and other light material handling equipment as required: pipe, fittings, tools, materials, supplies and equipment, refuse, excavated material. Assists in shoring, bracing and bridging excavations. Removes water from trenches, excavations, manholes and 'her work areas by hand pumps and bailing. Drills holes in concrete, masonry, brick, asphalt, with pneumatic or hand cools; patching same. Mixes and places pavement bases and surface materials. Cleans and scrapes surfaces and applies protective coatings, such as: paint, tar, tape, priming material to Mains & Services Department supplies, material, and equipment. Cleans manholes, vaults, pits, drains, trenches, roofs, eaves, Shovels snow, cleans walks, curs and trims lawns and grass. Obtains from storeroom: pipe fitting material, supplies and tools, as directed, Skills and Abilities Appropriate strength and physical condition to carry out lifting and other physical characteristics Good degree of mechanical aptitude. Willingness to cooperate with, assist and train other employees. Knowledge of and compliance with the safety rules and practices of the Company, Satisfactory completion of Company training program.
