Thompson Austin - 5th and Brazos The Role The Human Resources Manager works with Human Resources and Operations employees to carry out the daily activities of the Human Resource Office. They are focused on delivering Human Resources services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging Human Resources leader who sees HR as their calling and is passionate about their growth in this function.As a member of the Human Resources organization, this person contributes a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for a designated property. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following Recruiting Post job requisitions on all necessary job boards (internal and external) Create Strategic Partnerships with key organizations in the area that we can recruit from Create brand awareness within the community by: o Hosting/attending community events (i.e. workshops)o Speaking/presence at key community events/initiativeso Hosting/attending volunteer events within the communityo Post open positions on social media job posting groups (i.e. Facebook, Instagram) Align our recruitment efforts with our brand Marketing in order to strategically hire top talent Identify/Host Job Fairs throughout the year Utilize our Social Media to create brand awareness through specialized content Properly update the current applicant status in Taleo Track open positions, update the recruitment tracker, and send updates to the hiring managers and LC Conduct departmental weekly recruiting meetings Train new leaders on the Thompson recruitment/onboarding process Onboarding Plan and host monthly new hire orientation Input all new hires into our EIS database Ensure new hire paperwork is successfully completed Conduct background checks on all new hires Create and send offer letters to all new hires Partner with managers to ensure all new hires undergo their training plans, and each plan is signed off on Ensure all I9s are completed and in compliance with Federal law Retention/Turnover Help execute our retention plan Keep track of the following metrics: o Time to fillo Time to hireo Source of hireo New hire turnovero Quality of hire Termination/Separation First point of contact term requests (HRM and HRD will look into details) Prepare termination letters/paperwork Ensure final pay is submitted to payroll in accordance with state termination laws Update colleague EIS panel to a terminated colleague in the system Place investigation reports and/or any termination documents/documents leading up to termination into the Digidocs system Inform security of "Status of Employment" emails to security, appropriate department leaders, and Saul for proper removal of system access Log termination metrics The Hotels When you stay at a Thompson Hotel, you are welcome as a resident. Qualifications Fluent in Spanish High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in human resources, recruiting, or talent acquisition. Background in employment, employee relations, employee training, and government regulations and policies as they impact HR is preferred. Previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred. Service-oriented with professional presentation skills. Clear concise written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as social media platforms. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
