Competition # Posting End Date: October 2, 2023 City: Winnipeg Work Location: Mc Charles Department: Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute Union: Non-Union Hiring Status: Term - Grant Funded Anticipated Start and End Date: October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024 (may expire with two weeks’ notice) FTE: 0.5 Anticipated Shift: days/modified days/evenings/weekends Daily Hours Worked: 7.5 Annual Base Hours: 1950 Salary: $19.910, $20.660, $21.580, $22.390, $23.390, $24.370, $25.340, $26.360, $27.410, $28.500 Job Summary: Following experimental designs established by a scientist, graduate student or more senior technician, positions at this level provide a wide variety of routine standardized technical assistance and analysis, or perform routines developed for specialized experiments, under general supervision, except when new techniques are being learned. Incumbents are expected to work on their own initiative once routines have been mastered. Incumbents direct, train and provide orientation to new employees at the same or more junior level and train or demonstrate techniques to students using established guidelines and procedures. Incumbents are expected to perform any duties performed by Research Technician 1s as required to support the activities of the unit. Qualifications: Required: Level of Formal Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in a related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques. -or- High school completion with job-related options with a minimum of four years = directly-related experience.
