What you’ll do: Coordinate an effective, efficient, and timely period-end close process, including ownership of the general ledger and preparation of financial statements. Contribute to the annual budget process, including any necessary maintenance and re-forecasts during the fiscal year. Identify potential financial risks and recommend corrective actions. Regulatory compliance and understanding of Federal and Provincial tax applications in a retail and petroleum environment. Assist in the management of the treasury function, as it relates to bank accounts, monitoring and adjusting foreign exchange rates. Direct the training and mentorship of a team of 18 direct and indirect reports in their job responsibilities. Fixed asset/depreciation/disposal calculations and reporting. Review and approve monthly reconciliations (banks, prepaid, receivables, etc. ). Improve and implement financial policies, systems, and processes.
