The role requires a full spectrum of general surgical services appropriate to a secondary care center. Remuneration will be the guaranteed daily locum rate with the ability to exceed this with fee for service billings. SSRH has 85 inpatient beds and was originally founded in 1988, SSRH is a primary and secondary care hospital and designated district trauma centre. Services: • ambulatory care • anesthesiology • cancer care and support services • continuing care • diagnostic imaging (including CT scan, mammography, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound) • electrocardiography department • emergency medicine • general medicine • internal medicine • intensive care unit (ICU) • medical and surgical units • mental health and addictions services • midwifery program • Nova Scotia hearing and speech clinic • nutrition and diabetic counselling • obstetrics and gynecology services • occupational therapy • palliative care • perioperative services • physiotherapy • plastic surgery • psychiatry • respiratory therapy • social work • surgical intermediate care unit (SIMCU) • telehealth services • walk-in clinic Responsibilities full scope of practice as a surgeon providing care to the patients within the Western Zone participating in call and able to respond to urgent matters within 20 minutes of being called Expected Hours Weekend call coverage On call requirement Qualifications Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) Membership with the Canadian.
