Scheduled Hours per Pay Period: 50 hours Rate: As per Collective Agreement QUALIFICATIONS: ● Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or another related field from a community college or university. ● Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation skills ● Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, implementation, and evaluation for both well and the cognitively impaired, ● Ability to work independently and the ability to manage time effectively, ● Ability to plan, implement, evaluate new ideas, resident programs, and volunteer initiatives ● Ability to provide meaningful engagement outside of scheduled programming ● Knowledge and/or experience in working with the geriatric population especially those with cognitive impairments ● Fun, enthusiastic, creative ● Current CPR/First-Aid and Food Handler’s certification, ● Knowledge of MDS/RAI would be an asset, ● GPA and Montessori certificates would be an asset. ● Knowledge and/or experience working in a Butterfly home an asset RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: ● Plan, implement and evaluate both individual and group activation program on Willowvale based on backssed needs and as assigned by the Supervisor, ● Implementing experiences that go with the flow of mealtimes happening in the Kitchen/Dining Room spaces ● Staging resident spaces with items for meaningful engagement and ensuring residents are not left without providing any type of engagement ● Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs, and report any significant.
