The Senior Director of Commercial Strategy & Operations is responsible for ensuring the Commercial team at Madrigal is best positioned to deliver on its business objectives by establishing clear strategic priorities, driving execution effectiveness, and spearheading innovation across the organization. You will work closely with the VP of Commercial Strategy & Ops, the Chief Commercial Officer, and the SVP of Business Planning & Ops on special projects to shape the commercial future of Madrigal. You will optimize the commercial business through the identification, prioritization, and execution of key initiatives in the areas of strategy, innovation, processes, systems, and tools.There are three key areas of focus for this role: 1.) Global Long-Range Commercial Strategy, 2.) Operations & Commercial Excellence, 3.) New Products Commercialization. Position Responsibilities: Global Long-Range Commercial Strategy Identify and drive the development and implementation of global long-range strategic priorities for commercial. Lead scenario planning and facilitate the development of a multi-year commercial strategy and annual commercial strategy refresh through close partnership with the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT), SVP of Business Planning & Operations, and Market Insights Team. Drive assumptions and articulation of strategy into a global long-range strategic forecast. Support key initiatives for global expansion plans. Operations & Commercial Excellence Drive optimization and continuous improvement in the annual strategic planning cycle in partnership with FP&A, Marketing, and Supply Chain. Identify opportunities to improve business practices and processes to maximize resources and achieve operational excellence across commercial. Develop and implement processes for capturing, cataloging, analyzing, and disseminating key lessons learned from initiatives, helping to propagate best practices throughout the enterprise. Lead special projects as needed across the commercial team. New Products Commercialization Support due diligence assessments for potential business development opportunities. If applicable, support the integration of potential M&A deals into the commercial organization. Qualifications and Skills Required: Possess a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business intelligence, or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in the requisite knowledge areas. Bring a minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Science industry, showcasing a deep understanding of industry intricacies and experience in leading large, complex programs and initiatives. Previous experience in go-to-market design, product launches, or brand marketing is required. Preferred candidates will have an MBA or previous strategy consulting experience in the pharmaceutical space. Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders. Display the ability to work independently, efficiently managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes. Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of tasks within set timelines. Embrace a collaborative mindset, fostering effective teamwork and synergy across cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives. By embodying these qualifications, the ideal candidate will contribute significantly to the success and growth of our Commercial Strategy & Operations Team and the broader organization. Compensation: Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands.
