We have been engaged by an exciting Pre-Series A startup leader in pioneering quantum-safe encryption technologies to identify an independent outside Board Member as they look to grow their presence in the US. This company has an established presence overseas and is in the midst of onboarding Sales Leaders to grow their private sector as well as Federal / DOD customer base. The ideal Board Member would be, for example, someone who has retired from the NSA (National Security Agency) who maintains an interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and the desire to make an impact by leveraging your extensive experience and knowledge. You don't necessarily have to be retired or work / have worked for the NSA but you must have demonstrated Cybersecurity expertise and experience that makes you uniquely qualified to lead the charge in a new, unfolding area of Cybersecurity. You must have a particular interest in how Quantum Safe encryption can protect our country and organizations both the public and private sector. This is a strategic role tasked with counseling the CEO and other executives in the company's long-term direction including strategic goals, capital allocation, and new products/initiatives. Product Development - "Strategically engaged but operationally distant". You will bring customer insights, technical expertise, a network, and coaching to help iterate toward product-market fit. Customer/market development - Assisting with go-to-market strategy, especially early on as they grow in the US market. Business model development - Help define revenue models, profit formulas, and monetization plans. Make introductions to early customers. Team - Help identify, recruit, and add credibility with hiring. Advise on best practices for hiring, firing, and motivating. Fundraising - Help identify funding strategy, identify potential investors, make introductions, and add credibility to the fundraising process. Requirements: 20+ years of career experience Recognized expert with a solid reputation in the Cybersecurity space Background working in DOD / NSA would be ideal. Particular interest in how Quantum-Safe Encryption Technologies can be applied to solve deep cybersecurity challenges Entrepreneurial spirit - The desire to be a part of a Pre-Series A Cybersecurity startup that is moving quickly
