From our facility in Hastings, we work on applications and manufacture bespoke systems for exciting projects such as space launches, 5G technology, O-LED TV’s, flexible solar panels to name just a few. The fixed working pattern for this position is Monday – Thursday 13.30pm – 00.00pm (40 hours) The role: Working mainly with Stainless Steel, you will be required to layout, cut, fit, and tack various assemblies using the TIG process, verify that the fabrications meet required quality inspection reports and then fully weld. You will be working within very fine tolerances and as the ideal candidate, you will have experience fabricating within measurements of +/- 0.2mm Key job responsibilities: Layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies to meet drawing requirements, using straight edges, squares, angle plates, blocks, clamps, and pointers. Fit and tack tubes and fittings for vacuum chambers in various positions and then fully weld. Read and understand technical drawings including weld symbols. Thorough understanding of measuring tools such as calipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes. Required skills: Previous experience welding within fine tolerances and fabricating within +/- 0.2mm and working with other materials would be a benefit Established skillset in fabrication and welding including the use of specific and accurate measuring tools Ability to read detailed technical drawings What can we offer you?
