A leading Hospital Outpatient shop in Southampton is now looking for a GPh C-registered Pharmacist to join the team and be part of a growing, thriving service. Outpatient services successfully bridge the gap between clinical and community – creating a flexible and dynamic environment that sees and cares for people with a wide variety of healthcare needs; from recent attendees of A&E, to discharged patients continuing treatment at home, to people managing chronic or progressive conditions. The Outpatient shop serves one of the largest customer bases nationally and is currently undergoing an exciting period of expansion. As an Outpatient Pharmacist, you will work alongside the shop and Dispensary Managers to deliver the shop’s clinical services, such as the screening of prescriptions, providing counselling and advice regarding dosages, side effects and interactions, and supporting the ongoing development of both the team and scope of services. While a clinical or outpatient shop background will be an advantage, Community Pharmacists looking to switch over to a hospital environment will be considered and are encouraged to apply. This is a permanent role for a Hospital Outpatient Pharmacist, with full-time and part-time hours considered. Person specification: Candidates must have: Active registration with the GPh C as a Pharmacist. Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced dispensing environment. It is desirable but not essential to have: Previous experience within hospital/outpatient shop.
