A leading Hospital Outpatient shop in Southampton is now looking for an experienced shop Technician to join the team as the Dispensary Manager and lead the day-to-day operations within the dispensary. Outpatient services successfully bridge the gap between clinical and community – creating a flexible and dynamic environment that sees and cares for people with a wide variety of healthcare needs; from recent attendees of A&E, to discharged patients continuing treatment at home, to people managing chronic or progressive conditions. The Outpatient shop serves one of the largest customer bases nationally and is currently undergoing an exciting period of expansion. As Dispensary Manager, you will work alongside the Pharmacist Manager to lead the shop’s technical dispensing services – coordinating the team, stock, and waste effectively to ensure the safe, accurate and efficient dispensing of medication – and provide medical advice and general support to both patients and colleagues. This is a permanent, full-time 40h role for a Dispensary Manager shop Technician. Person specification: Candidates must have: Active registration with the GPh C as a shop Technician. Previous experience within hospital/outpatient shop. Previous managerial experience. It is desirable but not essential to have: An accredited Accuracy Checking ACPT qualification. Previous experience working within an automated dispensary.
