Our client, who is a Main Contractor specialising in all forms of Roofing, External and Internal Refurbishment are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. They work in the commercial and industrial markets undertaking work on housing, schools, hospitals, walkways and have built up a sound reputation working for Registered Social Housing providers and Local Authorities. The role will suit an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to progress into a Quantity Surveying position. You will be based within the office in Brighton but you will be required to attend various sites and external meetings. The role, you will: Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost estimates. Collaborate with the Quantity Surveying team to review project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify potential cost implications. Assist in the valuation of work completed, managing payment applications, and ensuring accurate financial documentation. Support in the negotiation and settlement of variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and resolve any cost: related queries. Assist in contract administration tasks, including contract drafting, review, and management. Weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting through to the final account all under the supervision of a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Requirements: Main contractor experience, minimum 3:5 years. Commercially aware. JCT contract knowledge along with some NEC experience. Experience of undertaking projects independently.
