Role overview: Responsible for Legal, E&C and Privacy affairs in UK and Republic of Ireland (ROI). This role is both operational and strategic. Executive summary: Looking for a lawyer / senior associate with very good English, trained at a reputable law firm / company, if possible, with bar exam and life science experience. The Assistant General Counsel, UK/ROI, must be able to work independently, collaborate comfortably and effectively in a global, cross-functional environment. Day to Day Responsibilities: Responsible at the affiliate level of the company processes and internal/external regulations related to the following areas: Ethics and Compliance, data privacy, corporate, and litigation. He/She will act not only as a subject matter expert but also, in conjunction with local leadership, will take the needed actions to ensure an adequate level of compliance. Responsible for providing strategic and operational legal support regarding a broad range of legal affairs, such as commercial contracts, marketing and advertising, and business development, in particular including respective anti-trust and competition law questions. Ethics and compliance, data privacy, corporate and litigation. Serving on Affiliate’s Core Lead Team. Monitoring and supervising external counsels and legal spending. Supporting IP by collaborating with the IP legal team. Supporting Regulations by collaborating with the Regulatory legal team. Developing training plans and providing legal training to staff. Required Skills and Experience: Ability to work independently and be confident with decision-making. Ability to collaborate comfortably and effectively with people across different areas of the firm and various levels of seniority, of different national and cultural backgrounds. Excellent communication skills in English. Demonstrated skills in providing strategic advice to leadership, including the ability to persuade and influence decision‐making. Self-motivated,.
