Career Opportunity Deputy Director of Public Service with City of Sylvania, OH Are you a seasoned civil engineer with a passion for public service and community development? The City of Sylvania is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as the Deputy Director of Public Service. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our city?s infrastructure and quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the managerial needs of all public service departments.Serve as the City Engineer of the Engineering Department and GIS Coordinator.Administer and implement capital improvement plans.Oversee all phases of civil and municipal engineering, including cost estimating, planning, contract management, detailed design, construction, and construction administration.Manage municipal finance and maintain financial and official records.Communicate effectively with departmental staff and the general public. Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in civil engineering.Minimum of five years of experience in civil and municipal engineering.Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of OhioIn-depth knowledge of cost estimating, planning, contract management, detailed design, construction, and construction administration.AutoCAD is a plus.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Experience in municipal finance and record-keeping.This is an in-office position Monday through Friday.
