SCHOOL INFORMATION NorthPointe Christian Schools is an independent Christian school formed in 1972 serving over 1,200 preschool through high school students from over 120 churches. NPC pairs academic excellence with a strong, Christ-centered environment to reach our mission of "equipping students to impact their world for Jesus Christ." POSITION SUMMARY This is a part-time position for the 2024-2025 school year as a Spanish Immersion Reading and Math Interventionist at our Elementary School. EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES Support the School’s Foundational Statements and mission through word and deed. Integrate Biblical principles and Scripture into daily activities. Minister to students through prayer, encouragement, and wise counsel. Follow safety protocols for where students can be and how to secure the building. Professionally represents the school in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students. Remain professional in attire and behavior. Maintain confidentiality of all matters pertaining to students, employees, and donors as outlined in NPC’s Confidentiality Agreement. Be timely in reporting to work and when at work. Carry out the procedures and protocols in the employee handbook and respect decisions made by leadership. Maintain open communication with leadership regarding questions, concerns, and needs. As a representative of the school, all written and verbal interactions with parents/guardians, co-workers, and the community must be professional and reflect the school positively. This includes one’s appearance, the content of the communication, and presentation of it. JOB DUTIES Conduct Spanish Immersion Reading Intervention groups for grades K-5 on Mon/Wed/Fri. Conduct Spanish Immersion Math Intervention groups on Tues/Thurs. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bilingual: Advanced to superior level if non-native speaker. Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian School’s Foundational statements. Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening. Openness to development of teaching skills. Flexibility in team/student demands. Discernment and creativity in meeting student needs. Bachelor's Degree Exhibit the verbal ability to understand meaning of words, the ideas associated with them, and the ability to convey them to others clearly using oral expression and comprehension. Display a willingness to learn and share insights, tips, and strategies learned along the way. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physically able to: Frequently stand and sit for extended periods of time. Frequently use manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate equipment, and move around the classroom. On occasion, engage with students while kneeling, squatting, stooping, or bending 50-70 degrees at the waist. Exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Perform daily repetitive movement of fingers and hands when writing and typing. Read printed and electronic material daily. See with clarity objects using close, distant, and peripheral vision. Sufficiently hear conversations in person and distinguish sounds clearly up to 20 feet. Must be able to maintain continuous safety of the students and respond quickly and appropriately to any threat toward their well-being.
