ResponsibilitiesA leader in the retail food industry, H E B's 19 warehouses with over 4.5 million square feet support our retail division by distributing thousands of items (over 7.1 million cases per week) to our Stores in Texas and Mexico.As a Production Controller , you'll play a vital role in staffing, planning, and achieving facility goals to ensure accurate, timely production that serves our Stores and Customers. You'll participate in long-term staffing discussions with Procurement, Forecasting, Planning & Analysis and Facility Leaders / Directors, considering impacts on cross-training, seasonal strategies, the mass-posting process, and overtime. As part of long-term planning, you'll play a critical role in determining MHE and Radio Frequency Unit needs to support productivity goals.Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. We are looking for : a four-year degree or equivalent experience; experience in production controller duties experience as a Team Leader / Operations Leader, and successfully motivating teams and managing conflict What is the work? Management : Drives cross-functional alignment on projections and labor planning strategies / metrics Supports Facility Leaders on annual volume / staffing planning; supports staffing / projection requests from leadership; collects feedback on labor planning from Team Leaders, Operations Leaders, Facility Leaders Identifies / assesses structural changes in product flow impacting assigned facilities; ensures structural network / product flow changes are incorporated into labor planning methodology Monitors plans and work-in-process backlogs to consider impacts of future planning and staffing Drives innovation by developing best practices for holiday planning, schedule automation, long-term planning, etc. Resolves facility concerns quickly; escalates as appropriate Monitors / manages toward meeting metrics expectations (e.g., financial results to budget, customer service, operational excellence, and talent assessment) Role models open door policy; cultivates an environment of teamwork Performs daily floor walks with Operations Leaders to understand product flow and facility capacity; uses trend graphs and reporting tools to help identify and drive areas of opportunity Shares information with Partners on shift / weekly goals; facilitates Partner understanding of how their work impacts customers Clearly explains volume / labor projections, performance metrics, and staffing updates for Facility Leaders, Team Leaders, and Operation Leaders in assigned facilities Builds collaborative relationships with peers network-wide Production / Scheduling : Identifies short- and long-term operational risks driven by labor shortages / excesses Identifies / proposes mitigation plans to support efficient operations in assigned facilities Conducts on-going root cause assessment on distribution projections / labor; identifies key drivers of forecast errors Ensures compliance with legal / regulatory guidelines Attends weekly Transportation meetings to assess requirements and potential operational risks Participates in bi-weekly Production Controller conference calls to stay current on events and tools / process updates; relays information to leadership Monitors KPIs daily, weekly, and by Period; takes corrective actions; prepares / communicates key performance metrics in weekly direction-setting meeting Oversees / validates input parameters in Workforce Manager (WFM); reviews / recommends changes to WFM-generated schedules Reviews / communicates volume and staffing projections to respective Team Leaders, Operations Leaders, and Facility Leaders Reviews / maintains all key labor planning parameters / metrics within assigned facilities (labor standards, schedule performance, attendance, OSTP, etc.) What is your background? Four-year degree or equivalent experience Experience as a production controller Experience as Team Leader / Operations Leader Experience successfully motivating teams and managing conflict Completion of required H-E-B Leadership classes, as scheduled Do you have what it takes to be a fit as a Warehouse Production Controller for H-E-B?
