PARMA CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION ANNOUNCES EXAMINATION FOR ENTRY LEVEL PATROL OFFICER May 20, 2024 - June 14, 2024 through National Testing Network Test Center www.nationaltestingnetwork.com Test applications and further instructions may be obtained from the National Testing Network starting on May 20, 2024. General questions regarding the testing process and/or application for employment should be directed to the Civil Service Office at 440-885-XXXX . DATE: May 2, 2024, through June 14, 2024, by means of the National Testing Network (NTN). Candidates with a current NTN test score are welcome to submit their existing profile to the Parma Civil Service Commission via the NTN system. TESTING WEBSITE: www.nationaltestingnetwork.com SALARY/BENEFITS: 2024-Step 1 Salary: $59,740.00, 2025-Step 2 Salary: $71,763.16, 2026-Step 3 Salary: $88,434.88 plus competitive health benefits, vacation time, paid sick leave and other employment benefits. AGE REQUIREMENTS: No person shall be eligible for an original appointment unless he/she has attained the age of twenty-one (21) years but not yet reached the age of thirty-five (35) years by appointment. REQUIREMENTS: Must be a United States citizen and high school graduate or have obtained a GED. Copy of valid driver's license and high school diploma or GED equivalent MUST be uploaded to the NTN website at; www.nationaltestingnetwork.com Applicants must attain a minimum score of 65% on the video, and 70% each on the Reading and Writing portion to have passed the test. All candidates are required to complete the NTN Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ). Only those with a passing score and who have completed the PHQ will qualify for further stages of the testing process. Those stages include a mandatory Basic Peace Officer Training requirement and certification, polygraph test, medical exam, background investigation, psychological profile evaluation and passing of a physical agility test (required prior to original appointment but not needed to take the exam). Parma Civil Service will accept proof of passing a physical agility test from any Police Academy certified by the Ohio Peace Officers Commission with a passing score of 15% or better of the Coopers Standard Physical Agility Test for agility tests the period from May 20, 2023, through the date of appointment.
