Practice Area: IP - Patent - Hard Science General,IP - Patent - Software, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Patent Attorney with 1-4 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate must be registered to practice before the United States Patent Office, possess excellent communication and writing skills, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Preference will be given to candidates with a background or experience in software, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. Law firm experience and admission to the Arizona Bar are strongly preferred. Duties:Conducting interviews with inventors to assess patentability and gather necessary information.Drafting and prosecuting patent applications, including overcoming rejections under 35 U.S.C. ยง101.Conducting patent searches and analyzing prior art.Providing legal advice and guidance on patent strategy and portfolio management.Assisting with patent litigation support as needed. Requirements:Must be registered to practice before the United States Patent Office.1-4 years of experience in patent law.Excellent communication and writing skills.Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.Familiarity with software, artificial intelligence, and machine learning concepts preferred. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant technical field preferred. Certifications:Admission to the Arizona Bar strongly preferred. Skills:Proficiency in patent drafting and prosecution.Knowledge of patent laws, regulations, and procedures.Ability to analyze complex technical information and communicate it effectively.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
