The candidate will focus on providing high-quality legal and consulting services to higher educational institutions both in North Carolina and nationwide. The ideal candidate should have experience or a strong desire to specialize in higher education law, encompassing areas such as Title IX, faculty employment, student and academic affairs, and athletics. Duties:Provide legal counsel and consulting services to higher educational institutions on a wide range of issues, including Title IX compliance, faculty employment matters, student affairs, academic policies, and athletics.Represent educational institutions in litigation and administrative proceedings.Advise clients on regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local laws affecting higher education.Draft, review, and revise policies, handbooks, contracts, and other legal documents for higher educational institutions.Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients on various legal and compliance issues.Perform legal research and analysis to support clients' positions and provide strategic advice.Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.Stay current with developments in higher education law and related areas to provide the most effective advice and representation.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs and providing tailored legal solutions. Requirements:Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.Must have excellent academic credentials.Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or have the ability to become immediately licensed.Strong desire to learn and specialize in the Higher Education practice area.Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues. Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications:Membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility to obtain North Carolinalicensure promptly. Skills:Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in legal research and writing.Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.High level of attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.Proficient with legal research tools and technology. Experience:3-6 years of general litigation experience with a focus on higher education, or 3-6 years of experience advising higher educational institutions on Title IX, faculty employment, student affairs, academic policies, and athletics.
