The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the Procurement Team. The Finance Manager will be a trusted business partner to help with financial cost management, reporting, tracking, monitoring, and ensuring accurate savings attainment for over $4B in annualized spend, including packaging, ingredients, spare parts, capital, services and more! The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, cross-functional team experience and be results-focused with minimal direct supervision. The Finance Manager must be able to effectively interact, collaborate and communicate across multiple functions in the organization and cooperate and build consensus to drive results. The position will plan, prioritize and manage workload in an environment of competing priorities to support and guide timely and sound decision-making. The role will provide opportunities to deal with operational complexities and support strategic decisions. Core ResponsibilitiesIdentify and bring forward issues and areas of opportunity to provide visibility to trends on a proactive basis and leading analysis driving improvements.Establish and enhance tracking models to provide visibility to spending objectives.Assist with annual budget process, savings initiatives, and later analysis of achievements.Provide financial analysis and insight to all ingredient and materials managed by the procurement teams.Enable proficiency managing and making recommendations for efficiencies with systems and tools, such as SAP and supporting applications.Provide financial clarity for where various cost impacts will be expensed on the Profit and Loss Statement for various stakeholders in the finance and non-finance community.Provide financial training on a monthly / quarterly basis to new and existing employees within the Procurement team.Ensure understanding and consistent application of cost savings calculations and methodologies.Represent and lead procurement in various finance-wide projects, optimizations, and continuous improvement projects.Ad-hoc analysis, modeling and other as assigned.Compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, and 5+ years of relevant experience in reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.5-7 years financial analysis experience with costing and accounting knowledge, preferred.Advanced Excel modeling and/or reporting skillsExperience creating dashboards with business intelligence software (PowerBI, SAP BW)Proven track record working in cross-functional teamsAbility to develop data-oriented stories and communicate with executive managementAnalysis, forecasting, budgeting experienceSAP or other ERP experienceSupply Chain / Procurement / Factory knowledge a plusMust be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and guidance to a Financial AnalystCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.EEO/AA InformationSmithfield is an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace diversity.
