Sr Director/Vice President of Tax - FL

Description:
Growing brand with corporate offices in Boca Raton, also having 20 retail locations and several manufacturing plants throughout the US. Opportunity would report into the Chief Financial Officer and support all income and non income taxes for this publicly traded company on a state and federal level. Responsibilities: Including income tax, motor fuel tax, sales tax, property tax, and unclaimed property reporting, determining resource needs and evaluating appropriate split between external vs. internal preparation and consultation. Identifies accretive planning opportunities on an ongoing basis. Proactively communicates relevant significant tax matters and actively participates in strategic decision-making with senior management. Coordinates tax planning with the compliance calendar to incorporate all tax deadlines and availability of needed resources. Personally supervises quarterly and annual interaction and calculation of individual shareholder estimated payments, corporate distributions and compliance. Reviews tax provisions as needed. Works closely with various accounting groups to improve efficiencies between accounting and tax. Researches appropriate tax positions in relation to new accounting pronouncements and provides guidance and recommendations as to those matters. Periodically reviews policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance. Responsible for working with directors in managing staff and processes to ensure timely compliance for all Federal and state reporting. Manages and/or supervises tax projects with outside consultants while striving to perform various tax projects in-house whenever practical Requirements: 10 + years of income and non-income tax experience for corporate organizations US Experience Required At least 5 years of management experience Experience in preparing/monitoring a provision or tax compliance SOX experience Ability to be a hands on people leader Support technology upgrades and/or enhancements
